Maurice D. Evans
Elite School Management CEO

Maurice D. Evans, business owner and entrepreneur is one of the founding members of Detroit Service Learning Academy (“DSLA”). As the founding board chair, Mr. Evans commanded and guided the development of a board of directors who were successfully engaged in the task and challenge of board governance. From the Academy’s inception Maurice’s leadership resulted in consistent growth each year in student enrollment and achievement. This growth helped the Academy becoming a flagship of Michigan Public Academies and the Michigan Department of Education's first School of Excellence.

Unlike many Public School Academies that are managed by large national Education Service Providers, DSLA’s path to success took a different route. What initially began, as a K-5 school managed by a national ESP, under Evan’s leadership, soon became a self-managed independent organization. The results were a program that grew and flourished under the direct leadership of the Academy Board led by Maurice Evans. His hands-on involvement with every aspect of the school’s operations as the board chair allowed him to gain the knowledge and experience needed to sustain a stellar organization. Evan’s lead the board in making strategic decisions over the years that have resulted in the Academy’s record of outstanding achievement and academic accomplishments. This wealth of experience coupled with his own business acumen and management experience of more than 25 years makes Maurice Evans uniquely qualified. His expertise has provided the organizational skills and management leadership needed to assure that DSLA is the first choice of many parents seeking a quality education for their children.

Maurice has a proven track record as a business owner, mentor, manager, leader, and now founder and CEO of Elite School Management.  Evan’s insight, and influential connections have made it possible for Elite School Management to secure some of the most successful and experienced individuals in the industry. Delicia Allen
President of Early Childhood Development
 

Delicia Allen majored in Marketing at Baker College, but has always had a passion for working with children. Mrs. Allen has been working in childcare for over 14 years. She held many positions with the YMCA of Metro Detroit for over 11 years including Youth and Family Coordinator and Assistant Day Camp Director. From there Mrs. Allen spent 3 years at an Early Childhood Education Center where she was soon promoted from an Infant Teacher to Business Manager. Mrs. Allen also took on the role of Acting Director maintaining a center of 130 children.

Mrs. Allen joined the Elite School Management team in July of 2014 as the Executive Director for Elite School Staffing as well as V.P. of Early Childhood Development for Elite School Management.

 

 

Greg Allen
President of Marketing
 
Greg Allen started with Elite School Management in July of 2015. He was hired as the Service Learning Director and immediately implemented a new Service Learning program at Detroit Service Learning Academy and Redford Service Learning Academy. Mr. Allen’s approach to service learning was to focus the efforts of service projects to the local communities so the students could affect the change that wished to see in their own neighborhoods. As a part of implementing a quality service learning program Mr. Allen ensured that every project was made a part of each class’s daily curriculum, this allowed the students to see the real-life application of their classroom lessons and answer the age-old question of “why do we need to learn this stuff?”

 

Mr. Allen also took on additional responsibilities within Elite School Management to update the digital presence of the company. This included working with outside vendors to create and maintain new websites for each school managed by Elite as well as creating social media accounts for those schools as a way of communicating and advertising the great work happening in those schools. This work led Mr. Allen to being promoted to the Elite School Management executive team in October of 2017 where he took on the role of Marketing Director for Elite School Management and its subsidiaries.

  
 
Tracey Ellis
Chief Financial Officer
 
The CFO has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing. The experience of the business office has a wide array of services that has been provided to some local charter schools. Tracey Ellis, CFO for the Management company also service as senior business office manager. 
The shared service of the business office will include the following:
-Maintain academy cash management: Implementation of comprehensively established procedures as it relates to fund balance, strategic planning of federal and state funding, IDA and foundational grant allocation. 
-Ensure the completion and submission of feral, state and local agencies; reviewing school laws and Revised School Code as it pertains to finance. Implementation of fund accounting processes, communication to all stakeholders will maintain a transparent relationship with the inter-school community.
-Establish and maintain all operational programs that require funding 
-As well as provide general accounting services relating to school revenue, transfer sources, process and structures of accounting for budgets and expenditures.  Including but not limited to School Aid Act, accounting manuals, funding accounting, forecasting and projecting, and federal and state programs.
-Financial management of additional areas:
o Food Service  o Instructional Programs o Employee Health Benefits o Technology o Payroll o Facilities and grounds  
 
 
Ebony Walker, M.Ed
President of Compliance

As the Achievement and Assessment Officer, Ebony Walker has over 8 years experience in developing a data driven Academic Assessment model designed to assist schools meet and exceed their academic goals. As the School Improvement Chair, Title I Coordinator, and District Assessment Director she provided vision and communicated the direction as a member of the executive team.  Her educational accomplishments include a bachelor’s degree in business communication/marketing earned at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has recently earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University including an administrative certification from the state of Michigan.  Finally, she is in pursuit of an Educational Specialist in Assessment & Curriculum from Grand Valley State University in addition to a central office certification to be completed in the fall of 2015.

She been selected to serve on various assessment committees including MEAP Standard Setting Committee (2006) Content Review Committee (2009-2012)

David Robinson
President of Technology

David Robinson is the Technology VP for the Elite School Management. He attended Eastern Michigan University and served four years in the United States Air Force where he was hand selected to work at the Pentagon in Washington, DC by the Secretary of Defense.  There, he functioned as the Senior Network Administrator for the Secretary of Defense and his immediate staff, which included collaborations on multiple projects with the White House IT staff.  Working over twenty years in the computer and telecommunication field, Mr. Robinson has many certifications and vast experience in a variety of IT areas, some of which include network engineering, architecture and design, consulting and training.  His expertise has also afforded him to work with some of the top IT companies in the world, such as EDS, Teksystems, CSC, and Siemens.

For the past 12 years, Mr. Robinson has served as the President of Affordable Computer Assistance, LLC, his own computer consulting company. He brings his wealth of experience, technical skills and management capabilities to his current position.  Here, he supports the administration and management operations as well as the district’s instructional and learning activities to help ensure that its educational mission is accomplished.
 
Paula Simmons
President of Human Resources

Paula Simmons is our senior HR expert she has over 13 years of Human Resources experience, most of which have been in a leadership role. Paula is the Chief of Staff, her expertise is; school recruitment, employee relations, leadership, employee development, training, compensation, benefits and workers’ compensation. She has provided Human Resources services to manufacturing, financial, educational organizations and public agencies.
